External Transfer Students

If you have attended another college or university after graduating from high school and now wish to attend the School of Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh, refer to the following guidelines:

 

EXTERNAL TRANSFER GUIDELINES

To be considered for admission, students must:

  • have a QPA of at least 2.5.
  • complete 24 credits appropriate for engineering (i.e. Calculus, Chemistry, Calculus based Physics, Computer Programming in C or C++) See Freshman Requirements.
  • submit High School Transcripts and SAT Scores if 24 credits appropriate for engineering have not been completed prior to applying.

If you've met these requirements, contact the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid for an application. The application should be returned to that office with official copies of transcripts from high school and all previous colleges or universities attended and an official SAT or ACT test result as needed.

If you are not currently a US Permanent Resident, please refer to the guidelines for International Transfers.
