Welcome to PITT

Hey, I heard you're looking into engineering schools. You're in that tough stage where you're not only choosing a career, but a college that will pretty much be your home for the next four years.

I'm a junior at the University of Pittsburgh Swanson School of Engineering and with all the opportunities that this school offers, both academic and social-like the small class sizes and urban location-I can't help but love it.

I know the difficult decision-making process you're going through right now. I was doing the same thing four years ago while I was looking at colleges and universities. I had so many questions. Sometimes I was too shy to ask them, and other times I didn't really even know what to ask, so I just didn't.

Well, remembering how I felt back then made me want to make it easier for you. So we came up with information that should answer most of your questions. But don't forget: If we missed anything that you want to know, please call the Freshman Engineering Program Office at 412-624-9825. The folks there will do all they can to help you. You can also join the FaceBook group "Pitt Freshman Engineers 2007" to connect up with other students coming this fall and to ask questions for current students. Good luck with your studies and enjoy college life at Pitt!
