Advanced PlacementThe School of Engineering encourages students to take advantage of college prep courses offered at their high schools. This allows students to start ahead in the freshman curriculum and can create openings in future terms, which can be used for courses toward a minor or dual degree. We do, however, caution students that core courses such as Calculus, Chemistry, and Physics are building blocks for future success, and so credits should only be used if a student is truly confident in their retention of the material. Advanced Placement Exams (AP Credits) Specific for Engineering * Please note that the AP credits awarded by the School of Engineering differ from other schools at the University of Pittsburgh. College in High School (CHS) CreditsThe University of Pittsburgh also has a strong CHS program at many of the local high schools.
